ABOUT US

Planet of Sound is a full service Music Supervision and Licensing company based in Ireland and run by award winning Music Supervisors Dina Coughlan and Rory McPartland.  We understand the importance of having the right music in a project and the process involved in putting it to picture.  Our goal is to find the best music options for our clients and advise them on what rights to obtain for their projects. We work with the production to identify music needs/placements, formulate music budgets, provide song suggestions, hire composers (and supervise score creation and deadlines), negotiate all license fees and administer all agreements.  Our extensive music knowledge and experience in licensing is coupled with our strong relationships with various labels, publishers, artists & managers.  Projects include the Oscar winning live action short film ‘An Irish Goodbye’ , ‘Mix Tape’, ‘Hokum’, ‘The Apprentice’, ‘Saipan’, ‘Evil Dead Rise’ and ‘The Young Offenders’. Our work includes nominations for the 2026 Guild of Music Supervisors Award for ‘Best Music Supervision in a TV Series Drama’, nomination for the 2026 Banff Media Festival Rockies Award for ‘Best Use of Music in a Series’ and winner of the 2026 AACTA for ‘Best Soundtrack’ for Mix Tape.
